How it works

From a Career Archive to a job-specific PDF.

The homepage shows the loop in four beats. This page is the same loop inside the product: upload, archive, match, improve, preview, and export — with the checks that keep claims grounded in your experience.

Open the workspace

What you see after sign-in

GetUrJob is one workspace, not a stack of disconnected tools. The left pane holds the job. The center pane toggles between the resume preview and Career Archive. The right pane is Resume Copilot. Import, Analyze Match, Optimize, and Download sit on that same screen so you can tailor one application without leaving the editor.

The application loop, in order

  1. 01

Sign in and open the workspace

Sign in with Google. The editor is a three-pane workspace: the job description on the left, your resume or Career Archive in the center, and Resume Copilot on the right. A short tour can walk through the first application; you can replay it later from the header.

  2. 02

Seed a Career Archive from a resume

Upload a PDF resume. GetUrJob reads roles, dates, accomplishments, and skills into a Career Archive you can review. This archive is the reusable source for later applications. You can also generate a starting resume from the archive onto GetUrJob’s professional template.

  3. 03

    Review the extracted record

Open Archive in the center pane (or the full Career Archive page) and check roles, facts, and skills. Correct anything that was misread. Job matches and AI edits are meant to use this record plus the resume you are editing — not invented experience.

  4. 04

    Paste the job posting

Paste the full posting into the job description panel, including requirements and responsibilities. GetUrJob can keep a history of postings so you can switch between applications. Start a new posting when the role changes.

  5. 05

    Analyze the match

Analyze Match extracts requirements from the posting and scores them against the readable text of the current resume. Required and preferred items are listed separately. The GetUrJob Match Score is that comparison for this resume and this job — not an employer’s ATS result.

  6. 06

    Choose what to strengthen

Matching qualifications are skills already supported in the resume that you can choose to surface more clearly. Missing items are requirements GetUrJob did not find in the resume or archive. Add a missing item only when you can support it with your own experience and a short note. Then run Optimize to apply the selected improvements.

  7. 07

    Review the tailored resume

The center Resume tab shows the one-page professional template and a compiled PDF preview. Read dates, employers, tools, and metrics. Undo and redo are available for editor changes. Use chat only for exact edits to this resume — wording, spacing, or pulling a fact you already stored.

  8. 08

Export and repeat for the next job

Download the PDF when the content is accurate. Free accounts include a small number of unique PDF exports; downloading the same unchanged file again does not use another unique export. Pro raises the unique-export cap while the subscription is active. For the next role, paste a new posting and run the match again from the same Career Archive.

What you should still check

AI can misread a PDF, attach a skill to the wrong role, or over-weight a keyword. Before you apply, compare the preview with your own records. If a posting asks for a tool or outcome you do not have, leave it off the resume. GetUrJob will not interview for you and does not replace an employer’s screening software.

Fixed in this workflow

  • One professional template. Tailoring changes content, not a catalogue of layouts.
  • Match scoring uses the current resume text, not a guess about an employer ATS.
  • Unique PDF exports are counted; unchanged re-downloads are not.
